Fruitful Beginnings

The creator of Glade^® Lavender & Peach Blossom was challenged to come up with a new lavender scent, something different from everything else out there. And there was a lot of lavender out there. What could possibly set this one apart? With fruity scents making a splash in fragrance, we knew that we wanted to go down the produce aisle. But what to pair with the classically fragrant flower?

The process took lavender through a fruit salad of options. Lavender Apple? We were going for something poppier. Lavender Pear? Close, but we needed something punchier. Lavender Berry? Not quite right. It was seeing lavender’s signature purple contrasted with a bold orange color that sparked the idea; what we needed all along was something peachier.

The Power of Peach

If you’ve never experienced peach blossoms, they are light pink, star-shaped little blooms. They have a softly floral, slightly nutty quality that eventually gives way to an inviting hint of the juicy fruit to come, which is exactly what made our scent sing. Peach blossom added energy where lavender was soothing. Peach blossom brought youth and fun and carefree childhood memories of biting into the succulent fruit and enjoying the delicious mess left behind. With notes of apricot, guava, and papaya to round it out, and tangerine and mandarin to give it more sparkle and vibrancy, the formula was perfect.
